EM Hackday – EASST, Copenhagen
Experiments in (and out of) the studio: Art and Design Methods for Science and Technology Studies – European Association for the Study of Science & Technology (EASST)
Julien McHardy and I co-organised a one-day workshop on emerging methods of critical practice in science and technology studies, in particular methods that engage with art and design as well as performance and exhibition.
We introduced the EM project and encouraged participants to make Enquiry Machines (EM) that responded to their own research and/or the conference theme.
We exhibited these machines in an exhibition at the conference and some went on to ‘enquire’ in talks and papers.
The event was jointly supported by Goldsmiths and Microsoft Research Cambridge.
