B&B in new Open University module
I was recently filmed for a new Open University UG sociology programme. The course is about digital social worlds and the lecturers were interested in conveying the history of wearable technologies, and changing ideas around technology, gender and citizenship. It is always great to see how the research is viewed by others and seen as valuable in different contexts.
Filming took about 3 hours. I talked about the B&B research in my office and then demonstrated a convertible costume in action in the street outside. We coped with a range of external factors – such as my very hot office (it was a 30c day – yes, in London!), noisy street traffic and sirens that required regular re-takes and very weirdly I suffered a random wasp sting (oww).
