Bike Portrait exhibitions
The first exhibition of Bike Portraits in London was located in five popular bike shops/cafes. People were encouraged to see the exhibition by bicycle.
It was launched with an curated public bike ride. Over the course of four hours on a sunny Saturday afternoon, 26 people cycled between five locations in East and Central London to piece the exhibition together. It ended with lots of cake at Look Mum No Hands.
Other exhibitions were held at local council conferences and arts festivals around the UK. They included singing performances by people who featured in the portraits. Audience members were also invited into the exhibition by pedalling a bicycle to power the display of images.
